Aon Hewitt has been appointed as Investment Consultant for the Fund for General Investment Matters. Worldwide, Aon Hewitt's investment department advises pension and provident funds with total assets in excess of $3,8 trillion. Aon Hewitt does not manage assets, is not related to any investment firms and does not act as a distributor of investment products, thus providing independent investment advice for the sole benefit of the Fund.
Aon Hewitt provides advice to the Fund on a wide range of investment matters including: monitoring of selected investment managers, Management Committee training, global markets reports, market review and investment matters reports, preparation/update of Statement of Investment Principles, reports on new asset classes such as European property, Infrastructure, Hedge Funds, commodities, currencies etc and asset-liability studies with the aim to review and develop the Fund's investment strategy. The above contribute to a proper governance structure that the Fund ought to have in order to function properly as a world class institutional investor. In addition, Aon Hewitt supports the Fund in developing and implementing control procedures and decision-making processes in line with best global practices.
